Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Spottr mobile application and website (collectively, "the Service"), operated by Sean Watson ("Spottr," "we," "our," or "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Spottr, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

You must be at least 18 years old to use Spottr. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this age requirement.

2. Account Registration

To access most features, you must create an account with a valid email address and password. You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activity that occurs under your account
• Providing accurate account information and keeping it current
• Notifying us immediately if you suspect unauthorized use of your account

Accounts are non-transferable. You may not share your account with others.

3. Subscription Terms & Billing

3.1 Free Tier

Spottr offers a free tier with limited functionality as described on our pricing page. Free accounts are provided at our discretion and may be modified, limited, or discontinued with notice.

3.2 Pro Subscription

The Spottr Pro subscription is billed on a monthly ($9.99/month) or annual ($89.99/year) basis, processed through Apple In-App Purchase ("IAP"). By subscribing:

• You authorize Apple to charge your payment method on your selected billing cycle
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — access continues through the paid period
• Billing disputes, refunds, and receipts are managed by Apple per their App Store policies

3.3 Price Changes

We reserve the right to modify subscription pricing. We will provide at least 30 days advance notice of any price increase, delivered via in-app notification and email. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance.

3.4 Refunds

Refund requests for Apple IAP purchases must be submitted through Apple's standard refund process at reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use Spottr only for lawful purposes. You may not:

• Use the Service to facilitate illegal activity of any kind
• Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the App
• Scrape, crawl, or use automated means to access the Service without authorization
• Introduce malware, viruses, or other harmful code
• Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity
• Use the Service in a manner that degrades performance or availability for other users
• Create multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits

5. User-Generated Content

Spottr allows you to enter, upload, and store data including text, load recipes, session logs, and photos ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content.

By submitting User Content to Spottr, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to store, process, and display that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. We do not claim any ownership rights in your data.

Future social/marketplace features: Spottr may in the future offer optional community features (e.g., sharing load data publicly, a load marketplace). These features will be opt-in, and expanded content licensing terms will be presented clearly before you participate. No current version of Spottr includes public sharing of your data.

You represent that you own or have the rights to submit any User Content you provide, and that such content does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

6. Firearm Compliance

Spottr is a data management and ballistics reference tool. It is not a firearms dealer, licensed firearms instructor, or legal advisor. By using Spottr, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

• You are solely responsible for complying with all federal, state, local, and international laws and regulations applicable to the possession, use, purchase, sale, and modification of firearms in your jurisdiction.
• Spottr does not verify the legality of any firearm, accessory, modification, or ammunition in your jurisdiction. Laws vary significantly by location.
• The ballistics solver and reloading library features are provided as general reference tools. Firing solutions, trajectory data, and environmental corrections are estimates based on the inputs you provide — they do not guarantee actual performance.
• Nothing in Spottr constitutes firearms or safety training. If you are unfamiliar with safe firearms handling, seek qualified instruction before using any firearm.

7. Reloading Data Disclaimer

Spottr's Reloading Library contains reference data derived from published sources including SAAMI specifications and manufacturer load data. This data is provided for informational and reference purposes only.

This data is not a substitute for printed, manufacturer-published reloading manuals. Load data can vary based on:

• Specific components used (brass, primers, bullets, powders — even from the same manufacturer, lot-to-lot variation exists)
• Firearm chamber dimensions and headspace
• Altitude, temperature, and humidity
• Firearm condition and barrel wear

Always start load development at the minimum published charge weight and work up carefully while watching for pressure signs. Never exceed maximum published loads. Spottr assumes no liability for injury, death, property damage, or legal consequences arising from reloading data reference or use.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of security vulnerabilities. Ballistic calculations are estimates and should not be relied upon as the sole basis for any shooting decision. We do not warrant the accuracy of reloading reference data.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, SPOTTR AND ITS OPERATOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, PUNITIVE, OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO DAMAGES FOR PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE, LOSS OF PROFITS, OR DATA LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE.

IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $50 IF YOU ARE A FREE USER.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Spottr and its operator from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your User Content; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms, without notice. You may terminate your account at any time via Settings → Account → Delete Account.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Pro subscribers will retain access through the end of their current paid billing period, after which the subscription will not renew.

12. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Kootenai County, Idaho, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification and email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
